Stupid human tricks

And now, for something completely time-wastingly fun: In the address bar of your browser, do you see a little green B-squared? And if not, refresh.

Ain't it cool?

It turns out to be pretty easy to do this. I made a little square image, and then I went to MyFavatar and uploaded the image.

I'm going to mess with this some more, I'm sure, but in the meantime, oooh, looky at that!

(Okay. That tears it. I am a geek.)

Post-posting notes: It won't show up in Internet Explorer 6.0, but word on the street is that it will show up in IE7. And I don't much care because I avoid IE like the plague. I use Firefox. Finally, I knew I had to delete my bookmark/favorite to my blog and then re-bookmark it, but still I get no little icon in my bookmarks list. Damn. I might have to do some more research...

hmm. i can see it when i first open the page, but it's there for just a fraction of a second, then goes back to the blue button. i bookmarked it -- blue button. this is in safari. i have to check it in firefox. BUT a lot of my other bookmarked addresses have these tiny images -- in safari. wonder why yours didn't stick.

okay, the favatar (ick. hate that!) shows up fine in firefox. not telling you anything you don't know. it doesn't show up in the bookmark page -- but none of my bookmarks have images. not even the blue button. never noticed that before.

i have one! need to change it, but i think it works. i put the code in TWO places to get it to stick. right after head, and also after title.

for some reason it wouldn't stick if it was just in one or the other. i could see it briefly, but then it would vanish.

I totally dig the B2. I have a favicon hiding somewhere on my hard drive, and you and Anne have inspired me to find it!

Aha! Favicon is infinitely better than favatar, thank you...

I have to admit to being an Opera junkie. I mean, yeah, Firefox is great and all. But something about Opera just works for me.

But IE, yeah. It's the debil. It's too buffoonish to be the devil, so debil will hafta do.

Oh, thank you! I've been wanting to add one of those things for a long time.
